The studio Versi Linien creates bespoke textiles for interiors and small series of unique rugs and wall-hangings.

Textiles inspired by primitive modernism.

Versi Linien explores modernist icons of architecture through textile abstraction. Pieces are informed by the primitive sources behind early modernism, the one that took its purity of lines from folk arts, a hidden fact illustrated by the beautiful collection of folk and antique rugs and textiles present in the collections of masters and artists at the Bauhaus in its early years.

All the pieces are handwoven by Iris Drouet on her wooden looms. From her background in architecture, space and materials are discussed together to shape the final piece, handwoven in the atelier. Processes vary according to the very production of a piece : handspun wool, linen or site-specific materials may be involved in its making.
